World Health Day and Medical Cannabis
Popular Articles
“My health, my right.” It’s the new theme for this year’s World Health Day1. Observed each year on April 7th, World Health Day is a global initiative created by the World Health Organization (WHO) with the goal of promoting health awareness and advocating for better health outcomes for everyone, everywhere around the world.
Embracing this year’s themes of healthcare accessibility, equity, and education, we are exploring World Health Day from our own unique perspective – medical cannabis.
Better Products – and Better Days for All.
Medical cannabis has radically evolved since being accessible in Canada for medical use in 2001. Initially limited to only dried flower, medical cannabis products have since expanded to include a variety of smoke-free alternatives.
In support of Better Days for All, we’re proud to offer a vast and comprehensive selection of non-inhalable options including edible baked goods, beverages, capsules, gummies, oil tinctures, oral sprays, topicals, and even dissolvable oral quick strips. Discrete and precise, these ingestible products ensure that everyone can choose the right product that suits their individual needs the best.

More Affordability, More Accessibility.
Access to healthcare should be a basic right, not a privilege. Despite being authorized since 2001, accessing medical cannabis can be challenging for some patients due to factors such as affordability. Recognizing this issue, Aurora offers Compassionate Care Pricing as well as other discount programs to help ease the financial burden for patients who may require additional support.
Compassionate Care Pricing: For qualified patients earning $40,000 or under annually, this program offers a 30% off discount on all our cannabis products, regardless of potency. We also have several discount programs for veterans, first responders, seniors, pediatric patients and more.

Empowering Patients Through Education
Patients are never alone on their medical cannabis journey. Emphasizing education and equal care for all, we provide the following services to support their experience:
-
Dedicated Client Care Team: Our experienced and compassionate team offers ongoing education and support, assisting patients with product selection, responsible dosing, and more.
-
Partnership with Strainprint: Strainprint is an innovative and free mobile app that allows patients to track their medical cannabis usage and its effects on specific conditions or symptoms. This valuable tool helps patients identify which product may work best for them.
- Educational Blogs: Our comprehensive blog is a valuable patient resource for all things medical cannabis, featuring articles on consumption tips, different formats, the latest scientific research, and much more.
Breaking the Stigma
Even though hundreds of thousands of Canadian patients have used medical cannabis, there remains a lingering stigma around plant-based options. We can challenge these misconceptions by having honest and open conversations about medical cannabis.
This April 7th, on World Health Day, we encourage you to share your medical cannabis experiences with loved ones, friends, co-workers, and anyone else who may benefit from hearing about your personal journey. Together, we can break down barriers and pave the way for a more inclusive and enlightened approach to healthcare.
