    Aurora Veterans Program and Active Military Discount for Medical Cannabis

    We’re honoured to support Canadian veterans and those still actively serving. If you’re a veteran, you may be eligible for financial support for your medical cannabis through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). VAC provides reimbursements via Blue Cross to veterans across Canada towards both dried cannabis and its equivalent in cannabis oil form, up to 3 grams per day (or 90 grams per 30-day period) and up to $8.50 per gram.

    At Aurora, we offer support beyond your VAC coverage

      Aurora will pay the cost difference for eligible veterans on all of our dried flower, oil bottles and capsule products which are priced about your $8.50 per gram Blue Cross re-imbursement.

      Our veterans support team is dedicated to providing the service and information you need to receive the many benefits that medical cannabis can provide.

      We will direct bill VAC on products eligible for re-imbursement to help ensure you aren’t paying out of pocket for products which are covered.

      Our veterans program offers an additional 30% discount on our products not currently covered by your VAC benefits. This includes our oral strips, sprays, gummies and mints.

      We can assist you with your vaporizer selection and reimbursement. Every 3-year period, veterans are eligible for up to $300 of VAC coverage towards the purchase of a vaporizer.

        How do I apply for VAC medical cannabis coverage?

        We’re here to help. For assistance with the application process, please contact our veterans support team by email at veterans@auroramedical.com or call our client care team by phone at 1-877-9AURORA (1-877-928-7672). We are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET (6 a.m. to 7 p.m. PT). . 

        In order to qualify, we will need the following information:

        1. Your K number (found on your VAC Health Care Identification Card) – This can be submitted when you register online, or by phone/email to our Client Care team.
        2. Your medical document containing your diagnosis or a letter from your healthcare practitioner confirming your medical condition(s).

        Please note that following the submission of all of the above information, processing for VAC coverage can take between 4 to 6 weeks.

        If you would like to apply for coverage on orders you placed prior to receiving approval from VAC, you will need to submit your receipts for reimbursement to the following address:

        Remember, you will need to renew your coverage each time your healthcare practitioner submits a new medical document.

        Still Serving Discount – 25% Off for Canadian Military Members Actively Serving

        We also offer a 25% off discount for Canadian military members who are actively serving and those who have been released from service but do not yet have coverage or a pensioned condition to be eligible for coverage. In order to qualify, you’ll need to provide proof of enrolment/service to the Canadian Armed Service. If you wish to apply, please email your documentation as an attachment to registration@auroramedical.com or send it by fax to 403-637-3121. Include your full name in the subject line of your email.  Please note, discount programs cannot be combined.
